How pleased was I when I won the first competition help by new jewellery brand DYO Fabulous Jewellery, in which I received an item of my choice from their amazing selection. I chose the Raw Peacock Ore Ring, because I just loved the rainbow of sparkles when it catches the light, its over-the-top size and the fact that it is adjustable to fit my skinny fingers.
The ring was sent out in a super cute pink pouch to protect is and with a lovely note from the team, congratulating me on my win...how sweet it that? I'm so looking forward to wearing the ring from this exciting new brand, I think it will look amazing with my little tartan dress.
Apologies for my old lady hands, but isn't it gorgeous!? I'm so excited for the next stage of the brand launch which will be a 'Design Your Own' section, where you can create a totally bespoke jewellery pieces, of your own design, using semi-precious stones and fashion elements. I will be sure to keep you posted, but you can keep up to date with all the DYO Fabulous Jewellery news on their official Facebook Page.
What is your favourite jewellery piece of the moment?

WINTER STYLE WRAPPED UP
It's been a few days, I know, but I have been busy since I have picked up a couple of new writing contracts, one of which is writing about my first love...science. It has been hard getting back to the scientific style of writing after so much writing about fashion, but I am learning new things again, which is so exciting. Sometimes the hard work really is worth it.
It was the funeral of my boyfriend's grandmother yesterday and it may seem like a strange thing to say, but it was a lovely day. His mum gave a great speech about her that had everyone smiling and laughing on such a sad occasion, I was so proud to have been invited into such a wonderful family.
So that is my news, back onto the fashion. This is representing my winter style at the moment - yes it's cold, but I still want to look in the mirror and think, 'yeah, she's got the look', as opposed to 'there's a Gemma under all that frump'.

PRIMARK SPRING/SUMMER 2014
Who else is bored of winter? I'm sick of being cold, sick of waiting for buses in the rain and sick of styling my hair to perfection, only for it to be ruined in two seconds flat in gale force winds. I don't think I have had a good hair day since August.
And isn't everything so grey? It is like all the rain has just washed the colour away from the world and left a bunch of miserable faces and who can blame them...the January blues are setting in. Everyone is looking to tightening their belts, so that means there isn't much in the budget to add some colour to their wardrobes and brighten things up a bit.
Well thank god for Primark...their soon to be released Spring/Summer 2014 collection is bursting with colour, vibrant prints and super sleek shapes, all at bargain prices. Who needs designer, when their is Primani?
How amazing are those Versace-esque trousers? Get onto my legs...I demand you!
Are you a fan of the upcoming Primark collection? Has it got you yearning for summer? You can see the full collection on the Look website.

NEW YEAR, NEW ME
Well it has certainly been an interesting and exciting past few weeks for me. I had a wonderful Christmas and my big sister got married - it was like a fairytale complete with Prince Charming and the castle. I was honoured to be one of her bridesmaids on what was to be an amazing day. My sister, Rachael looked absolutely stunning in her Justin Alexander wedding dress and I can't wait to see the pictures from the delightfully eccentric photographer.
Well I'm sure you're wondering if I am back to blogging for good? Well I would certainly like to be and I am certainly going to try, but when you write for other people's blogs and websites for a living, it can be hard to do it for yourself. It is a new year's resolution I hope not to break.
Another one that I hope to stick to is to make more use out of my wardrobe and to stop saving items of clothing for a special occasion that may never arrive. I have dozens of dresses that I never wear because I am wearing the same few pairs of jeans and few jumpers (I promise I do wash them from time to time).
Have any of you guys made any new year's resolutions and have you already broken them?
